Adams Alpha Series Marimba

The 1st Prize winner will receive (amongst other) the new Adams Alpha Series Marimba, which was presented for the first time at this year's Musikmesse in Frankfurt.

Following the success of the International Marimba Festival Linz 2004 and the Marimba Competition 2006 and 2009 in Linz and Salzburg, Classic Concert  – in collaboration with the renowned University Mozarteum and Summeracademy Mozarteum Salzburg – is hosting an International Marimba Competition for marimbists of all ages and nationalities under the artistic direction of Bogdan Bacanu and Peter Sadlo.

The competition will take place at the Mozarteum Salzburg from July 30th to the 5th of August 2012 in Salzburg – the historical Austrian city, home of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Candidates will play in front of a jury comprised of many of the world’s leading marimba artists and musical personalities, as well as industry professionals such as concert organisers, artist managers, record labels and instrument manufacturers, providing the chance to open up many new and exciting career opportunities.
