Ji Hye Jung Wins the 2006 Linz International Marimba Competition

Ji Hye Jung

(from: vicfirth.com - 30.10.2006) On July 23 2006, Vic Firth artist Ji Hye Jung was awarded first place in the 2006 Linz International Marimba Competition. The competition took place at the Anton Bruckner Private University from the 15th to the 23rd of July 2006 in Linz

– the historical Austrian city, home of the Romantic composer Anton Bruckner. Candidates performed for a jury comprised of many of the world’s leading marimba artists and musical personalities. The jury also was comprised of several industry professionals including concert organisers, artist managers, record label and instrument manufacturers which served to provide the chance to open up many new and exciting career opportunities.
